What is society?

What the hell is the deal with society? As a child I would wonder why all our businesses, schools, sports, religions and governments had a hierarchy. I'd wonder about the laws and rules and why they were there. I'd think "Why do our parents discipline us" and "How are they staying constantly busy?" What is this whole power struggle thing all about, especially considering that all the people around me want nothing more than to live peacefully with each other. Does any of that matter?

I can't understand for the life of me how any of us get away with the things we do. "I'm a bus driver" and we pretend this identity is me and that it justifies my existence. We are constantly looking in all the same places for new and different things. "I'm not a failure, because I'll make sure and do these things today." Why are we constantly challenging ourselves? Do we need to? What is it that says "you HAVE to be good rather than bad"? Other than the bible (If it even does). Why are we constantly trying to prove to each other that were competent, worthy and valid? Why is this automatic distrust any problem at all? Is it a biological need for evolution?

Do we even need to help or guide the course of evolution. What would the purpose of that be? Do animals constantly ask something of it's environment and change according to that? Why is being healthy or smart good for evolution? If we are good enough already do we even need evolution? I wish I could find this god guy and ask him "What's the big fuckin' deal buddy?"
